Eleanor Louise Qualls Perry
Eleanor Louise Qualls Perry, 92, was born on February 17, 1924 and departed from life on November 30, 2016 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Huntington, WV. She attended Douglas High School, where she was one of the first majorettes and was a member of First Baptist Church. She graduated from West Virginia State College and was very active with the AKA Sorority. After retiring from Spring Hill Elementary School, she tutored reading at her home and at the J.W Scott Community Center.
Eleanor was very active in the Huntington community and was a member of NAACP, The Red Hatter’s Club, and The Ebony Bowling League, and was honored by Who’s Who. She mentored and mothered many young teens, who was at her house every day, shooting pool, having dances, playing games or celebrating a birthday party. Everyone was always welcome at the “White House”. She loved decorating for the Christmas Holiday.
