Dwight Staples

Dwight Staples grew up in Beckley and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School. After graduation, he attended West Virginia State College and earned a degree in education and a master’s degree in education administration. He taught math and algebra for seven years before deciding to go to law school.

After graduating from law school, he came to Huntington to join Herbert Henderson in his law firm, which is now Henderson, Henderson & Staples. Staples said he learned almost everything from Henderson, whom he described as the best of the best.

Staples achieved several legal accomplishments and is a civil rights leader. He is a member of the Mountain State Bar Association, the West Virginia State Bar Association, the NAACP and Kappa Alpha Psi fraternity. He loves to travel and hopes to extend that travel to visit Europe.
