Constance Claytor Fitzpatrick

Huntington Transit Authority/TTA Bus Driver

Constance Claytor Fitzpatrick was one of the first Black female bus drivers in Huntington.

Fitzpatrick was born in Mabscott, West Virginia, but her family relocated to Huntington. She graduated from Douglas High School in 1955.

She was employed as one of the first two Black female bus drivers for the Tri-State Transit Authority until her retirement. In 2004, Fitzpatrick worked as an attendant for Callender Funeral Home where she remained until 2001. She was a faithful member of Sixteenth Street Baptist Church until her passing in 2022.
