Rhonda Felder


Rhonda Felder attended Simms Elementary School, Lincoln Junior High School and Huntington High School but graduated from Huntington East High School. She went to Glenville State College for two years before transferring to Mashall University where she was active with the ROTC.

Felder was to report to Fort Campbell, Kentucky, for basic training to be a lieutenant but before she could go on active duty, she tore her Achilles tendon. This ended her military career.

She started working in home care and spent seven years working with and assisting the elderly. She worked with LINKS and then collaborated with her mother in foster care as the secondary. She is still working as a foster care provider.

Felder has been a referee and official with boys’ and girls’ basketball programs in the Tri-State and Charleston area for more than 25 years.

She assists in the after-school program at Spring Hill Elementary School, helping children improve their reading skills. She also is an active member of Real Life Christian Center and supports many of the programs in the church.
