Vickie Goodson-Scott
Vickie Goodson-Scott was a graduate of the Marshall University Laboratory School. She attended Fisk University and Miami Dade College and traveled across the globe with Pan American World Airways as an airline stewardess. In 1996, at age 44, she earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Marshall University. She began her catering business with her husband, John Scott, who had been a cook on the C&O Railway.
Scott grew the catering business from private parties in homes to Vic’s Artistic Catering in 1994. She attended Unlimited Future, Inc. and completed the entrepreneurial training program in 1997. Her business was a member of the Huntington Regional Chamber of Commerce, the Putnam County Chamber of Commerce and the Ashland Alliance. Because she did not advertise, Chamber affiliations and word of mouth were important to her. She had a reputation for fresh, quality food, courteous and professional service with beautiful and elegant presentations. According to Scott, she did not just serve food – she presented it with style and love.
Scott also was a member of the Huntington branch of the NAACP and Professional Women’s Clubs, Inc.
