Duane Rankin

Duane Rankin is a successful sports journalist who has more than 20 years of experience in the industry.

Rankin was born and raised in Huntington and graduated from Huntington High School and Marshall University.

He currently is the chief beat writer of the NBA’s Phoenix Suns for The Arizona Republic, a position he has held since 2018. He produces daily content, videos and writes an occasional column.

Before joining The Republic, Rankin was a columnist/videographer for the Montgomery (Alabama) Advertiser where he primarily covered Alabama and Auburn football. Having been in the business for 20-plus years, Rankin has covered several college football national championship games, an NBA Finals (2007) and interviewed LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, Nick Saban, Floyd Mayweather and many more athletes.

Rankin remains actively involved in programs designed to help the youth in Huntington to focus on education and reach their full potential.
