Leroy Johnson
Leroy Johnson was a longtime educator and community leader in Huntington and in West Virginia. He taught school in Bramwell, West Virginia, before moving to Huntington. He served as principal of Barnett Elementary School for several years.
Johnson also served on Huntington City Council for several years and on many civic and educational committees and organizations. He was a member of the Huntington Business and Professional Men’s Club and a faithful member of First Baptist Church until he embraced the Seventh Day Adventist religion in 1965. He served in many capacities and was an elder of the Shiloh Seventh Day Adventist Church.
