Troy Brown

Athlete/3-time Super bowl champion/NFL Coach

Troy Brown is a native of Barnwell, South Carolina graduating from Blackville-Hild High School before coming to Marshall University.  Even though he was discouraged from playing football because of weight and height, he still lettered in football and track and field.  Troy attended Lees McRae College before transferring to Marshall University where he was a standout wide receiver, punt returner and kickoff returner.  He was drafted by the New England Patriots in 1993 but was not signed to play until 1994, and played with the Patriots until his retirement in 2008.  In 2012 Troy was elected to the Patriots Hall of Fame.

In 2019 Troy began coaching in an unofficial capacity and officially became a member of the Patriots coaching staff in 2020. Troy is an investor in and spokesman for the Narragansett Brewing Company.  A portion of WV Route 10 is named Troy Brown Way and he worked with the Bartrum-Brown Football camp from 2001 – 2011.
