Norman Branch

Founder/Positive People Association

Norman Branch is a lifelong resident of Huntington. He attended Cabell County public schools, graduating from Huntington High in 1995. He received a football scholarship to Marshall University, where he graduated with a regent’s degree in broadcast journalism and double minors in psychology and marketing.

He is the founder and director of the Positive People Association, a nonprofit organization that engages community youth through interactive multimedia.

Branch’s community service includes the Theatre Arts Program, which encourages youth participation to build self-esteem and interest in the arts. He also served as a volunteer basketball official, which culminated in a basketball official certification for 15 years while continuing to volunteer officiate at the middle and high school levels. He also coached in the DC Express Youth Football League for 10 years.

Branch is co-founder of the Three Building Mural Project, which is extension of the Word on the Block Initiative. He has received the NAACP’s Youth Leadership Award, the Marshall University Multicultural Scholarship Award, the 2021 NICT Man of the Year Award and the Steven L. Ferguson Award.
