Mildred Battle

Educator

After completing her Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry at Central University in Durham, North Carolina; Mildred Battle pursued and earned a Master of Science degree from Marshall University. She was presented an honorary Doctorate of Letters at the World Forum of Arts and Sciences. Dr. Battle worked as a Project Chemist with the International Company of Huntington before returning to Marshall University and Marshall University Community College to become a professor of chemistry and mathematics. Dr. Mildred Battle traveled to 19 countries in her lifetime and served as a United States Ambassador to London. She was actively involved in the community and her church. When she went to live at the Wyngate Senior Living Community she taught Sunday school and Bible Class there.
