Pam Bailey
Pamela Payne Bailey arrived in the Huntington area, from East Orange, NJ in November of 1970, two weeks before the Marshall University plane crash. Pam attended Marshall University and received her bachelors and master’s degrees in Elementary Education. Pamela began her teaching career at Barnett Child Care Center. Later, she became a substitute teacher for Cabell County Schools and soon was hired as a fifth-grade teacher at Spring Hill Elementary and was soon became the assistant principal there. She left Spring Hill to become the principal of Martha Elementary School but then returned to Spring Hill, where she served as the principal for 21 years until her retirement in 2022. Ms. Bailey became a teacher consultant for National Geographic, a position she continues to hold.
She served as a Committee Woman in Cabell County for 12 years. She also served in the church as a Sunday school teacher, usher, choir director and church decorator, junior missionary and educational leader. Pam is also a member of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority.
