Thelma Scott

Thelma Spencer Scott was born in Lewistown, Montana.  She often says that she is a true born Mountaineer because her parents roots are from the beautiful hills of West Virginia. Her family came back to West Virginia in 1968 where Thelma attended Simms Elementary, Lincoln Jr. High and Huntington High School.

September 1981, Thelma enrolled in the Huntington School of Beauty Culture and completed her degree the following year, immediately passing her state board exam, and began an illustrious career in cosmetology.  Her first job as a cosmetologist was at JC Penney Salon in 1982 where she worked for seven years before venturing out to the salon of Ron & Associates in 1989. In 1996, one of Thelma’s high school classmates, Susan J. Hage, opened the doors of El Hajj Salon & Day Spa. Thelma was asked to join the premier, first in the Tri-State area, state of the art salon and spas. Thelma enthusiastically took the offer and celebrated her 26th anniversary in October of 2024. She has been a cosmetologist for over 42 years. Thelma loves and truly enjoys her professional career. It’s the only “work” she has ever wanted to do.

Her work has always been unto the Lord and her clients, and she has been blessed because of it. She always says that she, earnestly endeavors to “Treat her clients/customers, like the kings and queens they are!”

Thelma is a founding member of Encouragers’ Fellowship Church and a member of the praise team where she has served for the past 38 years. She loves serving her clients, but she mostly loves serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ!
